2 Geography- The Indus River Valley is an Indian sub-continent
Geography- The Indus River Valley is an Indian sub-continent. A wall of the highest mountains in the world- the Hindu Kush, Karakorum, and Himalayan ranges- separates this region from the rest of the Asian continent. Monsoons- Seasonal winds dominate India’s climate. Usually happen between October and February. Monsoons cause flooding.

3 Referred to as the Harappan Culture
Little is known about the Harappan culture because the language has not been deciphered. Men and Women were equal

4 Technology The Harappan Culture was technologically advanced. They had toilets that flushed, hot water, and sewer systems.

5 The Harappan Culture’s religion was the foundation for Hinduism.

7 Geography- Mountains, Oceans, and Deserts isolated China from the rest of the world.
Two important rivers were the Yellow River and the Yangtze.

8 Built large walled cities
The nobility and warrior class lived inside the walls of the city. Everyone else lived on the outside of the walls.

9 The Chinese thought that they were superior to everyone else.
Superiority The Chinese thought that they were superior to everyone else. They called themselves the middle kingdom because they thought they were the center of the world. They looked down on outsiders.

10 Men were treated as superior to women
Men could even tell their mothers what to do

11 Religion They would pray to their ancestors. Oracle Bones- They would write a question on an animal bone and burn it. However it would split would determine the answer to the question.
