2 One of the most frequently needed accommodations for employees with mental health conditions is RELATIONSHIP ACCOMMODATIONS. The majority of those who need this accommodation are less likely to receive it than any other type of accommodation. Examples are: 1. Supervisors meet very regularly with employee for feedback. They provide positive comments along with areas for improvement (complement “sandwich”). 2. Supervisors provide strategies for overcoming difficulties. 3. Co-worker/s provide mentoring for the employee, helping with information and coaching on the social environment. 4. Employment Specialists or Rehab Counselors provide support and problem-solving strategies. continue
