Bergen County’s Division of Family Guidance provides clinical, residential, educational, correctional, case management, and monitoring services to at-risk children, adolescents, and families, particularly those who are otherwise unable to receive needed services

6. Outpatient Programs Juvenile Family Crisis Intervention Unit (JFCIU)
Manages conflicts between adolescents and parents
Addresses situations involving endangered juveniles including those who are “truant” or running away
Has access to Bergen’s Place Youth Shelter and Family Court
Serves as Central Intake Unit for many DFG programs

7. Outpatient Programs Adolescent and Family Treatment Program (AFT)
Outpatient therapy program
Offers consultation, counseling, and therapy services
For youth and families that are without insurance or without access to services
Children’s After-School Treatment Services (CATS)
Activity based therapeutic after school program
Designed to improve social skills
For elementary and middle school-aged children
Play-based group therapy, art therapy & therapeutic recreational activities provided.
Parent support services available

Federal “blueprint” program
Addresses needs of juveniles with severe behavioral problems

For young woman ages 16-22
Clinical services in a home-like atmosphere
Assists young woman in achieving their full potential and mastering the skills needed for transition to adulthood

Improvisational theatre group that explores adolescent issues

20. Delinquency Programs Teen Re-adjustment Program
Outpatient program for juvenile sex offenders
Focuses on eliminating further sexual misconduct
Juvenile Detention Center
Secure residence
Temporarily houses youths who have committed a delinquent act and are awaiting court action

Monitors juveniles who have completed sentences
Assists juveniles in making a successful transition to their families/communities
