Westerlies W E What are the Westerlies? A global wind current that pushes air masses and the weather they create from the western U.S. to the eastern U.S.

What is the Jet Stream? A high speed wind current that pushes air masses around. It can change its direction day to day. It often looks like a roller coaster. Some days it pushes cold air from the north into the south. Some days it pushes warm air from the south into the north.

The Jet Stream pushes cold/dry air masses from the north (CP) down to the south so they mix with warm/dry (CT) and warm/wet (MT) air masses from the south.
