2 Mini Lab: Reference Point
Supplies: meterstick, sticky note, domino, 3x5 card reference direction card Directions: ( The reference direction is towards the 100cm (1.0 m) mark.. Place the sticky note at the 50 cm mark (0.5m). The sticky note is the reference point. Place the 3x5 card pointing towards the 100 cm mark. (1.0m) This is the reference direction. Place the domino at the 40 cm mark-this is a position because it is a distance from a reference point. (0.4 m) Complete the chart move the domino to the positions indicated and tell the distance and reference direction. The first one is done for you.
