2 UNIFORM CRIME REPORTS (UCR)
Developed in the 1920’s by the Department of Justice, the UCR program is a uniform, nationwide, statistical, data collection report which standardizes crime classifications to gauge fluctuations in the overall volume and rate of crime. Criminal offenses are divided into two major groups, Part I and Part II offenses.
