3. Addition and Subtraction
What are the expectations?
Y2 – Add and subtract ones and tens from 2 digit numbers.
Recall addition and subtraction facts to 20 and derive facts to 100
Y4 – Add and subtract numbers with up to 4 digits using column addition
Y6 – Add and subtract 4 digit numbers in a range of contexts including decimals.

4. Multiplication and Division
What are the expectations? Y2 – Know 2x 5x and 10x table. Use multiplication and division as arrays and repeated addition and subtraction. Y4 – multiply and divide 2 and 3 digit numbers by a 1 digit number using a formal written layout. Y6 – multiply and divide 4 digit numbers by a 2 digit number using a formal written layout.
