The powerful baptism in the Holy Spirit Acts 1:1-8; 2:1-5

INTRODUCTION Holy Ghost baptism is an experience in which God dips the purified believer in the fullness of the Spirit so he is empowered for divine service (Acts 1:8). The promise of the Holy Ghost baptism is for all believers and the initial evidence is speaking in a new tongue (Mark 16:17; Acts 2:38,39; 10:44-47). The power of the Holy Spirit is required to live the Christian life to the fullest. This seminar is divided into three parts: Pardon and purity before baptism in the Holy Spirit Promise and power of the baptism in the Holy Spirit Preparation and prayer for the baptism in the Holy Spirit

SUMMARY Pardon and purity before baptism in the Holy Spirit (Eze. 36:25-27): Salvation and sanctification must take place BEFORE one can receive the Holy Spirit. At salvation, sin is forgiven while the root of sin is removed at Sanctification. God will only deposit His Power in purified vessels. Promise and power of the baptism in the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:4-8): The Lord promised believers the Holy Spirit before He departed. Through the Holy Spirit, the believer can be effective in evangelism, do great exploits for God, prevail over the forces of darkness and life a vibrant and fruitful spiritual life. Preparation and prayer for the baptism in the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:14): Apart from salvation and sanctification, the believer must persevere in prayer to receive the Holy Ghost. God pours His water on the thirsty (Isaiah 44:3; John 7:37-39). Consecration and faith in God’s unfailing promises is required to receive the experience.
