1 Luke 13:22-30 Are you saved?

2 INTRODUCTION Are you saved?

3 Luke 13:22-30 (1) And He went through the cities and villages, teaching and progressing toward Jerusalem. (23) And one said to Him, Lord, are the ones being saved few? And He said to them, (24) Strive to enter in at the narrow gate. For I say to you, many will seek to enter in and shall not be able. (25) And once the Master of the house has risen up and has shut the door,

4 Luke 13:22-30 (2) and you begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us, and He shall answer and say to you, I do not know you; from where are you; (26) then you shall begin to say, We ate and drank in Your presence, and You have taught in our streets. (27) But He shall say, I tell you, I do not know you; from where you are. Depart from Me, all workers of unrighteousness!

5 Luke 13:22-30 (3) (28) There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you will see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and yourselves being thrust out. (29) And they will come from the east and the west, and from the north and the south, and will recline in the kingdom of God. (30) And behold, there are last ones which will be first, and there are first ones which will be last.

6 Noteworthy Points (1) Expect many will be saved
Jesus answer is stunning Most will be surprised by rejection Most will be anguished

7 Strive to enter in at the narrow gate
Rom 10:9-10 Because if you confess the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. (10) For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth one confesses unto salvation.

8 Oblivious to sin? (1) Would you be stunned if you are not saved?
Strive conveys struggle & working hard What struggles & what dominates your life? Are you thinking about your sins? Are you even aware of your sins?

9 Oblivious to sin? (2) Paul’s confession: Rom 7: but I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin being in my members. (24) O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from the body of this death? Mat 5:4 Blessed are they that mourn! For they shall be comforted. Be warned of … “I don’t know you”.
