3 Emergency plan overview
Lockdown/active shooter fire earthquake if you are already in a classroom stay in the classroom until the “all clear” is given. If you are in any outside area you find the closest open door and get inside, if it is a bathroom shut the door after yourself, if it is a classroom the teacher will close the door ****it is only a lockdown if the word “lockdown” is used If you are in class, you go to your classroom numbers on the softball field side of the blacktop. If you are outside for lunch, passing period, before or after school you go to formation If you are in class, duck, cover and hold under a desk until the “all clear” is given then directly report to your alpha group on the field next to the formation area where Charlie forms up. If you are outside for lunch, passing period, before or after school you go to formation

4 Starter activity Stand and deliver: What is your name and rank and name one cool thing you did this summer

5 7th grade Loc objectives
Cadets will learn: basic first aid manual of a guidon leadership traits how to read a compass and properly navigate leadership principles importance of historical documents and symbols how to lead a squad in drill how to refine leadership skills how to shoot an air rifle in the prone, standing and kneeling positions

6 Classroom expectations
Follow all nvmi rules Keep the room clean Be respectful of anyone speaking Follow your cadet leadership’s instructions Maintain a neat 5 subject notebook Academic Vocab LOC Cornell notes current events PT Cornell notes wellness journals/pt goal sheets)

7 Classroom procedures Should be lined up at parade rest when the tardy bell rings Once the bell rings the plt sgt will file the class in When the command ‘take seats’ is given, sound off “per ardua ad astra” then go to seats attention until given the command ‘at ease’ Before the command at ease is given, the plt ldr will announce what items to take out of your backpack

8 Classroom procedures Squad leaders will grab grading clipboards and grade their squad’s work Plt leader will grade plt sgt and squad leader’s work When dismissing the class the plt ldr will bring the class to attention and command ‘dismiss’ You will sound off “treat others the way you want to be treated, do the right thing, and make nvmi a better place” (all while at attention)

9 assignments Academic vocabulary due Mondays
Current events due Tuesdays Uniform inspections are conducted Wednesdays Cornell notes will be checked Thursdays Formation grades will be calculated Monday and graded by the following Wednesday Parade participation once a semester Promotion tests are now your semester final exams with ptas to do throughout each semester

10 Rank changes 6A-CDT (blank shoulder board) 6B- CFC (one chevron)
7a- C/LCPL (current cfc rank) 7B- C/CPL 8a- C/SGT 8B- C/SSG 9a- C/SFC 9b- C/MSG 10A- C/2lt 10b-C/1lt 11a- c/cpt 11b-c/maj 12a- c/ltc 12b- c/col (certain positions)

11 General school changes
Band is now before/after school plus pull out program with band director (see SSG Rodriguez about joining band) You wear pt uniform everyday except Wednesday when you wear class b Both hs and ms lunches are together Company tac teams have changed We are no longer a part of the California cadet corps There are a few new teachers on campus so make sure you give a greeting when you see them (when you see old staff as well)
