Goal is understood Clear direction when making decisions about activities Focuses resources on activities that achieve the mission Can increase member contribution and involvement. MISSION ←→ GOALS ←→ PROGRAMS ←→ PLAN What is Program Planning: Read more:

73 Program Planning: Keys to Success
GOAL: Defined and Communicated Must align with NSBE Directives KPIs/METRICS: This is how you define the success of the Program Must be measureable If you struggle with this, imagine the program operating in an ideal manner- list the success descriptors Remember Chapter Data Collection Initiative (CDCI)

74 Program Planning: Keys to Success
SCHEDULE: Balance of Optimistic vs. Realistic Keep both Short and Long term goals in mind. Broken into Phases (Plan, Execute,Testing, Evaluate or Plan, Do, Check, Act) TEAM: Must be Defined, Committed and Accountable Action Items CHAMPION: Who will drive this home? Create Standard Work (where you can) Allows for easy transition to successors while maintaining gains To provide a baseline for future improvement

75 Program Planning: Keys to Success
HOW TO ROLL OUT A PROGRAM Establish a goal for the program Determine KPIs Secure a date and venue Create a timeline of events/standard work Secure funding for the event (if needed)

76 Program Planning: Tools
Example KPIs/Metrics: Attendance Demographics of audience Before/After Comparison CDCI Scheduling Tools: Gantt Chart (Office Timeline, Smart Sheets, Google Docs) Calendar reminders Outlet to provide feedback Link CDCI to a blank template that was used for the CDCI
