2. What is a Prompt? The portfolio has several sections known as prompts.
Depending on what type of portfolio, you may be asked to read, write, do math problems, express your opinion, or explain scientific concepts.

3. How to Succeed You will complete one prompt at a time.
You need to finish a prompt before handing it in; you may not return to work on a prompt once you have handed it in.
Here are a few tips to help you be successful in your portfolio.

4. Tips
Read directions at least twice.  Think about what you are being asked to do.
Ask yourself: did I address exactly what the prompt or question was asking me to do?
Answer the questions with as much detail as possible. 

5. Tips
Generally, for reading and writing prompts, answers of one or two sentences will not fully address the questions you are asked.  You need to write more to express your understanding of the material.
Print your responses neatly so that they are easy to read. You may ask the teacher if he or she is able to read your words.

Tips
Before handing in each section of your portfolio, reread your response to see that it makes perfect sense.
