2. Upbringing Born in Waterbury, Connecticut in 1949.
Studied painting at the San Francisco Art Institute.
Father was in the Air Force and the family moved frequently.
Took her first pictures during the Vietnam War while the family was stationed in the Philippines.

3. Rolling Stones
Started her career with rolling stones in 1970 as a staff photographer.
At age of 23, she was promoted to chief photographer.
Her photographs helped define the look of the magazine.
Shot John Lennon and his wife, Yoko Ono, on December 8, 1980.
She was the last to photograph him, because he was shot and killed five hours later.
