Many people celebrated V.E. Day at Buckingham palace dancing and partying all night long. Some people put up flashlights to light up the city and remind people it was all over!

Lots of people stayed at home because they were so upset that they had lost a family member during the war! It changed peoples lives because many mums became single, and lots of children became orphans!
