Modems are functioning correctly between computers User Story 2: boot Gumstix Gumstix is booting and we have tested code on it User Story 3: send GPS Groundstation parses NMEA string GPS is able to be sent via TCP User Story 6: view vital plane data Only text right now Others: Two way comunication with data setting and gathering Accelorometers working

6 Process Collaboration and Coding Testing
Most work was done on campus by all of us Python code was coded by James Testing Python code was extensively tested against the groundstation Groundstation needed lots of rework Changed the dataOutputs to write lines Added a new send/receive loop for python communication

7 Process Results Again, testing was definitely our strong point. We had the new Python code to test mock plane data setting and sending Unfortunately, our serial error(s) prevented us from finalizing our GPS sending from Arduino/Gumstix to groundstation

8 Lessons Learned - Success
Simulating the data was a good idea because it allowed extensive testing for sending/receiving and setting/gathering Originally tested from python to groundstation using a null modem connector, but we moved onto the wireless modems and they worked fine (see demo)

9 Lessons Learned - Failure
3-wire serial problems: could not get the Gumstix or Arduino to send via serial because the data output was consistently incorrect. (see demo) Communication was still somewhat lacking which in turn slowed our progress.

10 Future Plans New and Improved Communication
Can easily be added to both ends (ground station and python code) Python code will work on Gumstix so setting up real data gathering is the definite next step
