Your CD Hylton Bulldog PTSO is excited to begin the school year and we solicit your support in helping us make this a wonderful academic, fun-filled, and encouraging year for our students and faculty. PTSO is a valued partner of the Hylton High School family and seeks to help promote academic and extracurricular events throughout the year. PTSO sponsors/supports various events to include: Homecoming Week activities, Craft Fair, Teacher’s/Staff Appreciation Days, Golf Tournament, 5K Run/Walk, Senior Celebration Day, and other school related activities as requested. Dues: $20 for the Family!

Major Activities: 2017 Homecoming Activities:
PTSO supports Homecoming Parade/Picnic and Homecoming Dance Through donations and funds we feed all parade participants We support the dance through serving desserts, helping sell tickets, running coat check, and manning hallways 2018 Teacher Appreciation Event: PTSO provides desserts for the teachers during teacher appreciation week Event is the first week of may PTSO spends about $350 for this event 2018 Senior Celebration: PTSO throws a big party for graduating seniors sending our seniors off with a bang. The event is the Wednesday night before graduation The event includes food, fun, games, prizes and the coveted caricatures paintings PTSO spends about $3500 for this event

Senior Events September 15th- Senior Sunrise
October 11th - PSAT day for underclassmen, senior field trip to the national zoo (forms due 10/02/2017) following senior class photo October 13th - Senior vs. Faculty Kickball Game 3:00 and Hylton Block PM before homecoming game, everyone is welcome! May 18th or 25th – End of the year senior picnic* June 1st - Senior Sunset* * Dates and times are subject to change.

Class Shirts Shirts have been on sale since the beginning of the school year. We will keep on restocking throughout the year. Prices Short Black Sleeve $5 Long Black Sleeve $13 Colored Long Sleeve $15 ($5 of the proceeds from each colored long sleeves sold will be donated to a foundation ex: pink for breast cancer, blue for autism, etc. )

The college application process:
Select colleges within your range Complete application online (student’s responsibility to meet deadline) Request official transcript (Naviance)***Give 10 days notice! Seniors should take SAT/ACT by January test date. Request official score reports from College Board (SAT) or for ACT (actstudent.org) Financial Aid Night –October 5, at 6:30PM. Kevin Jenkins, from The College Place will be guest presenter! Complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Student Aid) You will receive notification of your status from the college If accepted, a financial award letter will be sent to you from the college

ALL students have Naviance accounts! Student’s id#= username Student’s date of birth (mmddyyyy) = password Uses: College searches, scholarship searches, signing up for college visits, career assessments Requesting transcripts for colleges/universities, scholarships (first three free, then $5 per request) Midyear and final transcripts are automatically sent, free. You can check the status of your request in Naviance.
