A study taken by an organization to identify its internal strengths, weaknesses, external opportunities, and threats

3. Strengths What can you do well?
How you stand apart from your competitors?
What internal resources do you have?
Examples: special expertise, reputation, cost advantages, technology advantages, etc.

4. Weaknesses
Which areas do you need most improvement to compete with your strongest competitors?
What does your business lack?
Is your business in a poor location?
Are there any limited resources?
Examples: staff problems, limited service lines, marketing discrepancies, etc.

5. Opportunities What opportunities exist in your market?
How can you benefit from these opportunities?
Is the perception of your business positive?
Have there been any changes in the market recently?
Examples: new technology, lack of dominant competition, new markets of services, etc.

6. Threats
Who are your competitors? What are they doing different from you?
What factors do you need to control to prevent risks to your business?
What is deteriorating your profits?
Examples: new competition, government policy changes, economic slowdown, technology becomes outdated, etc.
