CARE committee has existed for ten years to address the gap in achievement of African American students and promote diversity. Parents of color are concerned about, and want to support the progress of their children. Culture plays a critical role in school experience and achievement.

4 History of CARE 1996 Former Superintendent Magill listened to concerns of parents and community members 10 years of work to understand and address the needs of AA students Serves in an advisory capacity to administration on issues of race and culture Recent initiatives DVMSAC, summer programs, additional reading and math specialists, minority hiring fair, cultural proficiency leadership,
