An artifact is an object made by someone in the past. Scientists called archelologists study them to learn more about past cultures and civilizations.

7 PRIMARY SOURCE: SECONDAY SOURCE: A primary source is a first-hand account of an event or an artifact created during the period of history being studied. A secondary source is a record of the past, based on information from a primary source.
