in Patient Communication on CICU:
The Joint Commission has identified communication failures during shift reports as a leading cause of sentinel events in the United States.
Bedside reporting reassures patients that the nursing staff works as a team, and patients witness a safe, professional transfer of
responsibilities.

When reporting is finished, nurses are aware of the issues their patients are experiencing, and enables them to plan and prioritize nursing interventions.
There is currently no protocol for nursing shift change hospital wide.

Computer open: labs, vitals, etc.
