3 <April 2008> TraceRoute A computer network tool used to determine the route taken by packets across an IP network or to do network troubleshooting Shows the route over the network between two systems, listing all the intermediate routers to its destination. Helpful to determine connections to a given server good or not, and to figure out where exactly the problem is. Shows how systems are connected to each other June Yoon

4 <April 2008> How it works ? Traceroute works by increasing the TTL value of each successive batch (3 trial) of packets sent The first three packets sent with TTL=1 The next three packets have a TTL=2 And so on… Until reaches to destination June Yoon
