1 An-Najah National University
Faculty Of Engineering Construction Project Management Iktaba Comprehensive Activity Center Done By : Hosny Jallad and Odai Abu Khadija supervisor : Eng. Barraq Jumaa

2 Two Parts of Our Project
Part 1 :(Project Time Management) Preparing a theoretical research (The relation between Time , Cost and Quality also PERT analysis ) Part 2 : Apply all the principles that mentioned in part 1 on a real construction project.

3 Project Description Iktaba Comprehensive Activity Center is located in Iktaba Village at Tulkarem City. The center consist of 3 Floors contains : Hall Meeting, Multi Purpose Hall, Training area and Head master and Secretarial offices.

4 Project Description Assumptions: Price Assumption= 1$= 3.5 Shekles.
Mechanical and Electrical Works Assumption= 7% of total cost of the project. Profit Assumption= 12% of total cost of project. Overhead cost assumption= 8% of total cost of project.

6 Objectives Apply the Principles of Part 1 at a real project to give us a better understanding of many issues and to get some experience in construction management. Solving engineering Problems in this construction project to achieve economic and safety factors. To highlight the impact of delaying project to avoid liquidated damages and to meet the dead line.

7 Methodology

8 Study Case The owener wants from the contractor to submit the project in 210 calendar day, and any delay will cost the contractor 150$/day. In order to meet the deadline we have to make a check on the probability factor, and this depend upon the safety of the structure, by making a check on all Structural elements (Slabs, Beams, Columns, Footings)

9 Study case (cont.) After we analyzed the structural elements by SAP we found there is problem in the footings design and so we made anew design for the footings. The old design is

10 Study case (cont.) The new design is :
The New design is increased by 11% from the old one, which is equal to 664$ . We have anew type of footings (F4). Although it has same column dimensions like (F1), but it has high service load.

11 Study case (cont.) Other structural elements were Safe
( Columns, Slabs and Beams) The three types of durations (Optimistic, Most likely, Pessimistic). Optimistic: (a) the shortest possible time in which the activity can be completed in ideal conditions Most Likely:(m) Every things go in normal way. Pessimistic:(b) Max. possible time if there is wrong and up normal situation.

12 Study case (cont.) The expected time for activity gives by :

13 Study case (cont.) We input activities with its description, expected time (Te), resources and costs.

14 Study case (cont.) :Analysis - Probability to meet the dead line:

15 Study case (cont.) Variance for each activity:
Mean: Project duration from Primavera = 206 calendar day =172 Working day Total Variance= Sum of variances of durations for activity on critical path= 5.88 days. The dead line from owner = 210 calendar day = 175 working day.

16 Study case (cont.) Probability factor D = 175 days End = 172 day
S.d.= Z = using Normal distribution table Pr (Z<1.237)= The probability to completing the project = 89.3%

17 Results Project duration = 206 calendar day Cost/day = 1300 $
Total Project cost= 268,539 $ Price per meter= 356.7$

18 Result (cont.) Cost distribution :

19 Conclusion According to the golden triangle ( Time, Cost , Quality ) , saving 4 calendar days reduced the total project cost by 4000 $ with high quality . The probability to meet the dead line is 89.3% which good scheduling and that’s a good percent to complete the project in specific time
