This poem is about a boy who likes to fish. He can’t believe that his teacher likes to fish as well. The poet is from Barbados, so the poem is best read in a Caribbean accent.

My teacher fish! You must be screwed up, man. A teacher? Hell A teacher TEACHES. He don't know the outdoor stuff. He don't care. He'd never walk by himself Before breakfast Across fields Gettin his feet soaked Just to fish! He's a teacher. He teaches.

NO ACROSTIC poems
APPROPRIATE language only
It DOESN’T have to RHYME
ONE SIDE of A4 maximum
Write your NAME and FORM on your poem
Winners for each house will receive house points, a certificate of achievement, their work published around the school and an edible prize.
Why don’t you use words from your culture or dialect to project your voice in your poem? Or use an aspect of African history month to base your poem on?
