Loans are either overnight, 1 week or for the length of the academic session (subject to recall)

5. LoC Classification
We use Library of Congress Classification so if your previous institution used a different system such as Dewey or UDC, you won’t find your books in the same place! You will need to use the WebCat! 5

7. You will all be starting with a literature search, making sure no-one else has written your thesis!
This means you will need too use large bibliographic databases to find information – Google won’t do!
We are running sessions on information sources this semester. Book your place on them through Gradbook.

You may not think that you need to start thinking about your e-theses this early, but it really does make you life easier! Templates, clearing copyright on graphs and diagrams etc are all things it is easier to think about from the start.
Research data is increasingly important as both an output of your research in itself for also for open science and verficiation of research. Good data curation principles are important.
