4 Materials Books: Journal & Conference Papers Inter-Library Loans
Unlimited number items at any one time Long loan: issued until June or September  Journal & Conference Papers Available online On campus, VPN or SVE Inter-Library Loans For items not in the physical/online library collections 10 free ILL requests per academic year Loans are either overnight, 1 week or for the length of the academic session (subject to recall) Large online as well as physical collections – check WebCat and DelphiS for our electronic holdings as well as our print holdings

5 LoC Classification We use Library of Congress Classification so if your previous institution used a different system such as Dewey or UDC, you won’t find your books in the same place! You will need to use the WebCat! 5

7 You will all be starting with a literature search, making sure no-one else has written your thesis!
This means you will need too use large bibliographic databases to find information – Google won’t do! We are running sessions on information sources this semester. Book your place on them through Gradbook. We are also running other sessions to help you

Templates, clearing copyright on graphs and diagrams etc are all things it is easier to think about from the start. Research data is increasingly important as both an output of your research in itself for also for open science and verficiation of research. Good data curation principles are important.
