3 Standard 7.33 – Describe the development of feudalism and manorialism, its role in the medieval European economy, and the way in which it was influenced by physical geography (the role of the manor and the growth of towns.)

4 Feudalism Read the sections, “The Feudal Order”, and “Lords, Vassals, and Knights” on pgs Diagram the social order of Medieval Europe using the one shown below.

5 Manorialism Read the handout titled, “Manorialism”, and look at the infographic titled, “A Medieval Manor” on pg. 256. Term Notes Manor Parts of a Manor Economy of the Manor Trade

6 Kim Chart (Per. 3) Divide your notebook into three columns, like this:

7 Analyzing Feudalism & Manorialism
Analyze how the feudal system and the manor affected each level of society. Write 3-4 sentences on each.

8 Manorial map As Lady/Lord, you have recently received a wonderful fief from the King. You will now design and create a Medieval Manor that would be sufficient for your fiefdom. Remember, all maps use symbols and have the following four components: scale, legend, title, and compass rose. Your manor will need certain geographic features in order to be self-sufficient. What are they? What else will your manor need in order to be self-sufficient?
