3. Example test papers
We have been sending home words for homework each week – important to read these twice daily with your child.
Past papers can also be used although your child has seen these before so can produce a false picture.

12. Tips for practising at home
Read words provided twice daily as well as any books you have. Short but frequent sessions are much better.
Take children’s last answer – getting children in to the habit of sounding out and then saying the whole word blended.
No pressure on children – we say they will just read some words to us.
