Begin a conversation with your group asking what does prom-time mean to them. Note their answers. Some will mention what they’re wearing or talk about the DJ. Others may talk about leaving old friends and starting a new chapter in their lives. Not many, if any at all, will talk about safety. After you’ve heard their comments, inform them that this is the time of the year when some of their peers will die or be seriously injured in a traffic crash.
