2 Continent of Panama Panama is located on the continent of North America.

3 The Government of Panama
Panamas president is Ricardo Martinelli. Panama is a representative democracy with three branches of government which are Executive, Judicial, and Legislative branches.

4 How Panama Gained Independence
On 3 November 1903, Panama gained its independence when Panama and the United States fought against Colombia. The United States helped Panama win war because the U.S wanted to build a canal in panama and they sent a gunboat called the “Nashville" to stop Colombia and Spain from entering.

5 Languages Spoken in Panama
In Panama people speak mostly Spanish.14% speak English. Many Panamanians are bilingual.

6 Major Religions of Panama
Panamas major religions are Roman Catholic and Protestant.

7 Employment in Panama Some of the jobs in Panama are construction, brewing, cement and other construction materials, and sugar milling.

Panama celebrates New years, Flag day, Labor day, Independence day, Christmas, Mothers day, Martyrs' Day, Good Friday, Independence from Spain, Independence from Colombia, First call of Independence, National revolution day, All Souls day, National Anthem day, Immaculate Conception, and Shrove Tuesday.
