Rules Activity “A Cartoon Conversation” Using the dialogue rules outlined on page 609 in your textbook, edit the following conversation. After editing, revise and rewrite the conversation. Some famous cartoon characters have gathered together in a television studio to review their impressive achievements. Let’s listen to what they have to say. Mr. Disney originally called me Steamboat Willy proclaimed Mickey Mouse proudly I was the first animated character Oh that was just black and white film Bart Simpson interrupted Today we’re computer animated and enhanced Computers? Did somebody say computers asked Daffy Duck I’d love to try them Computers and beyond yelled Buzz Light Year No No interjected Bugs Bunny The best thing about my cartoons is the humor and not all that technology stuff The Coyote objected I disagree It’s the thrilling action Just watch while I fall off this cliff

I’ve got you now screamed the Coyote as he crashed into the wall Sponge Bob hollered Hey, settle down you guys Has anybody seen my crab sandwich I think I saw that cat, Garfield, eating it responded Yosemite Sam Cat? Did somebody say cat cried Daffy No, but I have a pet dinosaur added Fred Flintstone Arnold complained I thought we were discussing our accomplishments I’d like to learn a few new tricks from you guys Is your football-shaped head an achievement in animation questioned Stewie That’s funny giggled Sylvester but has anybody seen a little yellow bird Bugs answered No but there’s a silly duck running around here somewhere Suddenly, Goofy burst into the studio saying We make everybody laugh Everybody loves us Even villains like Scar asked Simba Me too growled Taz Mickey restored order by loudly claiming Cartoon characters appeal to everyone, from children to adults. Everybody has a favorite
