The major battle of the 2nd World War Between Nazi Germany and Soviet Union Was fought for the control of Stalingrad/Volgograd Lasted 200 days and 200 nights from 17th of July February 1943. The decisive battle in the history of the WW2

9 Georgy Zhukhov. The son of peasants.
Was an officer and the leader of the Red Army. Devoted his life to liberate the USSR from the Axis Powers. At the outbreak of the WW1 received the 1st St. George cross for a bravery. Died at the age of 77.

27 The pact of Germany’s capitulation was signed in Karlshorst on 9th of May 1945.
This day is considered as the Day of Victory and is celebrated annually in all post-soviet countries.
