Flight Procedures portion of the syllabus introduces you the FLIGHT LINE. Includes an overview of the Syllabus and Flight Procedures; Aircraft Operating Limits and Emergency Procedures in preparation for CPTs; Course rules in preparation for FAMs. First slide is an overview of Flight Procedures - 1; Flight Preparation. 4 MPTS Guidelines Student Scheduling Guidelines (3710.11L)
12 hours max crew day (including cross country) 6.5 hours max instructional flight time (NOT incl. CCX) 12 hours rest before instructional events (NOT incl. watch) 2 events max per day with 1 hour rest 6 days scheduled in a row = minimum of one day off Administration ATFs…keep a copy in your student ATJ Warmups can be mandatory or optional ATJ review Done weekly on your own time! Tell your flight leader when you complete a review Initial your jacket when you complete a review Read page 1-8 thoroughly…I’ll highlight a few areas Student Scheduling Guidelines: page I-29 12 hours (14 cross country) 12 hours between events…INCLUDES WATCH 2 events max…1 hour rest (exceptions) 6 days scheduled = 1 day off Later, FAMs add number of passes, T&Gs…SOPs Administration ATFs…track IP and completion (24 hours for IPs) Warm ups…mandatory or optional (performance below MIF) page I-15, read carefully. IP’s call however, recommend advise up front. ATJ review…done every month.

5 MPTS Bubblesheet Sequencing … “Bubble sheet”….the bubble sheet shows the sequencing that is on page 1…in a visual form. Why the confusion? OPS flexibility…Weather, Aircraft Not-available, IPNA Stay ahead…two flights minimum

OLD Syllabus: Abbreviated! Removed: C4100 (first contact block) C4600 (night contacts) I4100 (instrument procedures) I4400 (cross country)

7 INTERMEDIATE E-2/C-2 Students
**NEW Syllabus**: Almost the same as normal advanced syllabus: Full contact syllabus Fewer I4100/4200 events No I4400 (cross country) No I4500! (review stage) No I4701 (airnav solo)

8 Syllabus Overview - CPT Study procedures and checklist responses.
- Contacts FAM-0; know your NATOPS and FTI. - Instruments Sims first, flights to follow. I4100/4200 into mid-stage checkride. I4400 cross country. I4500 review stage into instrument checkride (I4690) and solo. - Service specific ONAV/SAR; FORM/AR; LL/TF. CPT….Use all resources available. Many are getting fixed but they serve their purpose. FTI appendix E COLD and NATOPS FAM / BI….Contact flights 1-7 will be with on-wings. They will take you through initial SSE landings. Contact Flights 8-11 will be off-wing. Note BI’s from bubble sheet…can be scheduled after C The contact check ride C-4390 completes the day contact blocks. FAM-0, NATOPS and FTI…main references. RI’s…FTI and AIM are key references for this stage. RI-0 (provided) and AIGT self-pace…review on expectations. Mid-stage review…VOR, TAC, NDB…soon, GPS Cross country…21, 22, 23…combined for a weekend. Prepare for review stage Review stage…culmination of normal NATOPS/AIM with EP’s, both system problems and radio/navaid problems. Call IP the night before. Post RIs…service specific…do not relax…continue to prepare…many ready roomdowns here for no reason except complacency. ONAV; VNAV; FORM; LL; TF…call IP if you have any questions.

9 Flight Schedule Read it thoroughly.
Sims Duty Notes (DP) Ground training ALWAYS READ THE FRONT PAGE! Pay specific attention to brief times, which are listed before takeoff times. “Student Available” means there is no event scheduled but the CDO can call you in to fly! Always check flights, notes, ground training, duty DP means double pumped…find the second event “Standby” automatic if not on the schedule…be at your recall. Web based…on CTW-4 … VT-31 … schedule
