2. Characters Brutus Cassius Casca Decius Cinna Metellus Trebonius Decius

3. Plot Overview
Cassius along with the other conspirators, including Casca, Cinna, Metellus, Trebonius, and Decius arrive at Brutus’s house to convince him to join their plot against Caesar. Cassius and Brutus speak together and then Cassius suggests they all swear an oath. However, Brutus thinks that their cause is strong enough to bind them together. They discuss bringing Cicero into their group but latter decide against it. Cassius also suggests killing Antony along with Caesar. Brutus refuses this plan saying it would make their plan to bloody and vicious. Brutus believes that they are against Caesar’s spirit not the actual man. Brutus also tells Cassius that he doesn’t need to fear Antony because he is powerless and helpless without Caesar so there is no need to kill him.

4. Explanation
Cassius, Cinna, Casca, Trebonius, Metellus, and Decius come to Brutus’s house.

Cassius wants them to take an oath, but Brutus things they don’t need one
Cassius wants to kill Caesar’s right hand man, Antony
Brutus says this will make their act to bloody and vicious
Brutus believes Antony is no threat
