2. INTRODUCTION MGNREGA is a social security scheme

3. OBJECTIVE OF THE SCHEME
To enhance livelihood security in rural areas
By providing at least 100 days of guaranteed wage employment in a financial year
To every household whose adult members volunteer to do unskilled manual work.

4. WHO CAN APPLY? Adult members of a rural household,
Residing within the Gram Panchayat
Willing to do unskilled manual work, may apply

5. APPLICATION FOR REGISTRATION
Apply for registration in writing or orally to the local Gram Panchayat
The application for registration may be given on plain paper OR printed form.
Particulars such as age, sex and SC/ST status.
