FISH Fish are any non-tetra pod craniate that have gills throughout life and has limbs in the shapes of fins. A typical fish is ectothermic. Have streamlined bodies for rapid swimming, extracts oxygen from water using gills, having two sets of paired fins, at least one to three dorsal fins, an anal fin, and a tail fin. Fish range from the huge 52 feet (the size of a whale shark), to the tiny .3 inches (the size of a stout infant fish). Fish can obtain food in different ways.

Fish One example, a whale shark's mouth can extend to 1.4 meters wide, allowing them to catch or suck fish into their wide mouths. Another example, a parrot fish would use their hard beaks to bite off pieces of coral.

Fish Reproduction Fish reproduce sexually.
The way its done is that the female lays the unfertilized eggs onto the ocean surface. The male then swims over the eggs. As it swims, it releases sperm onto the eggs, fertilizing them. Fish do produce sex hormones in their bodies. The production of hormones is dependent upon certain environmental factors.

Fish Reproduction Th factors include temperature, length of daylight, and availability of food. Some fish don't take care of their young. Those are the fish that lay hundreds to millions of eggs, increasing the chances that a few offspring will survive. Fish that take care of their young, however, lay fewer eggs. This would show that the most of the offspring will survive with the parents.

Fish Organ Systems Fish have a swim bladder that
