3 Why is this important? Today Objective:Young historians will be able to understand the ways people interpret biblical text. Question: Using evidence from today’s lesson tell me which method you feel would work best when interrupting text.

4 What does this poem mean?
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same, And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back. I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference. 7 Directions: Part 1: Individual Section (5 mins) Part 2: 1.In groups I assign please read aloud your method to your group members. 2.Individually create a working definition for your method. 3.In your group come up with a working def. 4.Have one member come to the board write it down. 5 Revise and adapt accordingly (must have Teachers approval) Part 3: Copy other groups final working definition. Discussion *If done please revisit your homework from last night with your new section.

8 Discussion questions:
What ways can understanding these methods be helpful? How about hurtful? Do different methods appeal to different people? Support your answer Could you have everyone agree on one method? If so how? If not, then why not?

9 Conclusion Please answer the following question on a post it note before leaving class. Be concise :) Using evidence from today’s lesson tell me which method you feel would work best when interrupting text.
