2 Chinese Festival The Chinese Festival is a 15 day celebration which celebrates the coming of Spring. In Chinese Mythology the demon, Nian, terrorizes the people of a village. The townspeople wanted the havoc to stop so people painted their houses red and popped fireworks to keep Nian away. To this day people decorate their houses, eat food, give out red envelopes, and especially pop fireworks.

3 Houston Rodeo The Houston Rodeo takes place in Houston, Texas. This event starts late February to Mid-March. The Rodeo is the worlds largest live entertainment and livestock exhibition. At the Rodeo there are concerts held at Reliant Stadium, very unhealthy food such as: deep fried Oreos, turkey legs, funnel cakes, basically food that will get you diabetes. You can see farm animals and ride the rides and play the games.

4 Differences In Food The food for these two events is way different. At the rodeo it is basically deep fried food, grilled, and lots of barbeque. The Chinese Festival has a completely different variety such as rice, meat, seafood, vegetables, dumplings, soup, and so on.

5 Things To Do At the Houston Rodeo concerts are held at the Reliant Stadium where you can see country and pop artist performing. At one of the arenas you can see livestock animals: cows, goats, pigs, horses, and chickens. You can go to the carnival outside to ride the rides and play the games. The Chinese festival has a dragon dance, fan dance, and you can see other people merchandises like jewelry and paintings.
