St. Francis created the nativity to remind people that God chose for Jesus to be born poor, amid the animals. Jesus was sent to help those who had nothing.

Earlier this year Emil and Fabian’s dad fell ill and he had to give up work. When it was time to return to school after the summer holidays, their mum was struggling to buy the things they needed, like shoes.

11. Life at home wasn’t very happy for a little girl, Kylie and she and her mum had to leave their house and go and live in a tiny flat.
They took very few things with them. Kylie had to sleep on the floor and the cooker was broken so it was difficult for her mum to cook.

13. Emil and Fabian’s mum came to the Catholic Children’s Society for help.
The CCSP helped her to buy new uniforms and shoes.

Many of the families that the CCSP help are like the families of Emil, Fabian and Kylie; they do not have enough money for basic items like food or clothes and at Christmas it is even harder.
