1992 – IEC survey reveals agreement to develop a standalone International Ex scheme, WGEx formed to develop nucleus of Scheme
1996 – First meeting of Management Committee in London, appointment of Officers (Ian Cleare first IECEx Chairman)
1997 – 1999 Development of IECEx structure, including first round of assessments
1999 – Scheme commences Transitional Operation
2000 – First National Ex Certificate issued on basis of IECEx Test and Assessment Report
2002 – IECEx Management decision to move to FULL level and issuing of IECEx Certificate of Conformity
Aug 2003 – IECEx “On-Line” Certificate of Conformity System in operation
Sep 2004 – 130 IECEx CoCs issued
2005 – IECEx expanded to include Service Facilities
