VENEZUELA! BY: Amor Foster Block 5 Spanish 1

2 The capital of Venezuela is Caracas
The capital of Venezuela is Caracas. The official name of Venezuela is República Bolivariana de Venezuela Climate changes from tropical to temperate depending on the elevation. My country is located in Northern South America, bordering the Caribbean Sea and the North Atlantic Ocean They first gained there independence the 5th of July in 1811.

4 The background of Venezuela
Venezuela was one of the three countries that emerged from the collapse of Gran Colombia in 1830 (the others being Colombia and Ecuador). For most of the first half of the 20th century, Venezuela was ruled by generally benevolent military strongmen, who promoted the oil industry and allowed for some social reforms. Democratically elected governments have held sway since Current concerns include: drug-related conflicts along the Colombian border, increasing internal drug consumption, over dependence on the petroleum industry with its price fluctuations, and irresponsible mining operations that are endangering the rain forest and indigenous peoples. Good information

5 One of the many travel spots you can visit is Orinoco Delta lodge
One of the many travel spots you can visit is Orinoco Delta lodge. Nature oriented and environmentally aware travelers to The Orinoco River Delta. It’s the untouched beauty of the magnificent Delta that speaks for itself. Home to the Warao Indians and cradled between the mighty forces of the Orinoco River and Atlantic Ocean, the Delta is a constantly evolving ecosystem rich with countless species of flora and fauna. They have created three strategically located camps which together offer visitors a unique opportunity to experience every aspect of this natural wonder. Love this picture, but it sounds like a travel brochure. Can you paraphrase the information to make it sound more like your own.

6 Their language is correct, there language is not.
I would not like to visit my country because I don’t really want to leave my country right now because of economic reasons and I would probably not be able to speak the language and understand it very well. If I traveled somewhere where their language was different then I wouldn’t always know what was going on at all times and I would probably get freaked out and not know what to do. Their language is correct, there language is not.

7 Something I found interesting about my country was that the first Venezuelans were traced back to 6,000 to 13,000 BC. I thought that was really interesting because that is a long time that people have been around and to know that have been here that long makes me think of all the things that have changed in this amount of years.

8 Totally unaware of the magnitude of the event, Christopher Columbus and his Spanish crew actually stepped on continental land for the first time on August 2nd 1498 at the mouth of the Orinoco River, (today Venezuelan territory); in fact he believed he had arrived to the Asian Coast. Columbus two previous trips had been to the Caribbean islands of Santo Domingo and Puerto Rico When did Venezuela gain their Independence? You must have that information or the extra information does not count.
