1 Identifying the troubles N Applying basic troubleshooting techniques

2 Introduction Importance Occupied N ntg
like a bike, car, T.V even comp. Is a machine It also can give troubles Bike / bend, T.V / beat Those are not exact solutions but there is a chance To solve comp. Troubles also we’ve some techniques ( 26 )

3 Troubleshooting Process of analyzing and solving a serious problem
Involves the process of elimination, and it determines the steps to resolve the prob. ( Determine = Decide )

4 Why should we know TS . . ? To solve the trouble instantly
We may not find a hardware technician all the time

5 Prob:- 1 Power supply is ok, no display on the monitor
Check power connection on the monitor If the green light is on N says ” No input signal, check signal cable “ We’ve 3 solutions for this

6 Solution:- 1 Check whether the VGA cable is connected properly
( VGA = visual Graphics Array )

7 Check SMPS as it may not work properly due to low voltage prob.
Solution:- 2 Check SMPS as it may not work properly due to low voltage prob.

8 [ CMOS = Complementary metal oxide semiconductor ]
Solution:- 3 Check CMOS battery [ CMOS = Complementary metal oxide semiconductor ]

9 Clean the RAM with eraser against the golden strip
Prob:- 2 Two long beep sounds as soon as you turn on the system unit and no Display on Monitor Power off the system Check RAM Clean the RAM with eraser against the golden strip If the prob. still exist then its RAM failure, replace the RAM

10 Cleaning RAM N RAM slots

11 Prob:- 3 Disk boot failure, insert system Disk and press enter key
Solutions Check whether the SATA cable is connected to mother board N Hard disk properly If the prob. Still exist Re-install the O.S ( SATA = Serial at attachment )

12 SATA cable N connection

13 Prob:- 4 No power supply to system unit
Make sure that the power cables are connecter properly Check SMPS cable is connected properly to mother board Make sure that the UPS is ON if you are using it If the prob. still exist consult a technician.

14 Problem:- 5 Invalid System disc press any key to continue
Repair the O.S by system repair disc or system repair option Or Re- install the O.S

15 Prob:- 6 Sys. file missing
Sys. File = Drivers ( Audio, video configuration ) Re – install the missing file using O.S C.D Re – install the O.S ( if the prob. still exist )

16 Prob:- 7 System freeze ( mouse or k/b not working )
Check whether mouse N k/b connected properly Turn off the system and check SMPS N processor Re – Install O.S ( if the prob. arise very often )

17 Problem:- 8 System performance slow down
This may due to Virus attack several programs running simultaneously Temporary files stored in system

18 Make sure that the anti-virus is working properly,
1 ) Virus Attack:- Solution :- Make sure that the anti-virus is working properly, Run Anti-Virus to delete Virus files. 2 ) Several programs are running simultaneously at the same time :- Close the unnecessary programs which are running in the background

19 3) Temporary files stored in the system Solution :-
Delete unnecessary files from the temporary folder. Open run command ( Start button + R ) Type %temp% n press enter A folder with temporary files will open Select they all n delete them.

20 Prob :- 9 Bad, corrupted or fragmented hard drive
Place the mouse cursor in the C: Drive n click the right-mouse button Click on properties Click on tools n click on defragmentation now Click on Defragmentation disk

21 Defragmentation

22 Defragmentation

23 Prob:- 10 Primary hard disk fail / Secondary hard dick fail
Check SATA cable connections 2 main types of hard drive failure – Physical n Logical Physical failure :- Causes due to failure of SMPS or power fluctuations or the drive itself. Logical failure :- Causes due to corruption in the file system, Reasons for file corruption :- Deleting file registry, Improper formatting, Virus. The BIOS can will recognize the drive, but it wont boot. No physical damage but drive failure is there then re-install the O.S

24 There maybe three reasons that comp Clock may not function properly
Prob :-11 System date is not displaying correctly even after updating the date n time There maybe three reasons that comp Clock may not function properly Time zone Malware CMOS battery

25 1) Time zone Click the system clock in your task bar
Under the headline change time zone select your time zone or To change time n date click on change time n date

26 2) Malware A kind of virus that may restrict your comp to be updated
To fix this you need Updated anti-virus N malware scanner Ex:- Malware bite Install them Start your comp boot in safe mode n run them In safe mood malware won’t launch n get activated

27 3 ) CMOS battery complementary metal oxide semiconductor
Placed on mother board, provides power to CMOS chip CMOS chip stores the configuration, including date n time If the battery goes down the CMOS chip doesn't work properly, In this scenario you have to replace CMOS battery

28 Prob:- 12 Blue screen error

29 Solutions for blue screen error
Use system restore to re-arrange progs in order Scan for malware Install updated Drivers Boot into safe mode Heck for hardware problems Re-install windows

30 Mutual solutions Check SMPS Check all the connections of Mother board
Check CMOS battery Updated Anti-virus Re-install O.S
