Mounting of the BLAs Leak check Opening cold manual gate valves Static vacuum Manually lock valves in SCBs (string connection boxes) Installation of the cables to the racks Setup of emergency-off technical interlocks System tests TSP and Sputter ion pump operation

System alignment Assembly and leak checks Commissioning of special components Collimators Beam stops Dump vacuum system System tests TSP and Sputter ion pump operation

6 Installation Requirements: Coupler Vacuum System
Mounting of the system Most being done at AMTF Leak check Option: Really needed? Only crosscheck after transport. Static vacuum Option: Fire TSPs Start sputter ion pumps when network is available Need control system Installation of the cables to the racks Setup of the technical interlocks Setup of emergency-off technical interlocks System tests TSP and Sputter ion pump operation

7 Installation Requirements: Isolation Vacuum System
Close interaction with cryogenics Leak searches of helium process tubes potentially disturb other leak searches Helium ‚flooding‘ the tunnel Leak searches of the module connections Modules checked at AMTF String connection boxes to be clarified If a string (or a single RF station) is operated the system would need to be evacuated To my knowledge no experience with processing with the module iso-vac vented Systems test Before first cool-down Full check of Iso-Vac-Valve-Control

8 Vacuum Commissioning Requirements
Operation of the control system No operation of the HV of the sputter ion pumps without control and emergency-off Technical interlock operational Vacuum signals (sputter ion pumps) required RF operation on RF units TSPs required Cryo operation Full system check Valve control isolation vacuum Valve control beam vacuum Maybe a proper segmentation allows partial commissioning (also needed for the injector) Beam operation Valve controls BIS / MPS Collimator operation

9 Interfaces to other systems (to be completed…)
(Alignment) During installation Personal interlock Concept for the beam stops Emergency off for getter pumps also laser transport vacuum in injector Exception: Cathode system (analog to FLASH if required) Contacts needed in RF Racks for the cold linac or Vacuum racks in the undulator section Pumpstands (Iso-vac) probably not in emergency off (seperate discussion) Technical interlock for the RF stations Pressure readings for conditioning and operation BIS/MPS Pre-selection of which modes can be operated from a vacuum point of view e.g. which undulator section is pumped-down, injector-only etc. Beam-loss monitoring to guarantee safety of the vacuum system Controls Monitoring of installation hardware Operation of the vacuum system Cryo Isolation vacuum system Installation partially done together Photon beam systems Concept on how to operate V0
