49  But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.

Job 38:4 Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.

E Now we want to draw this first into our mind, that there is not one thing that can destroy us until the purpose of He Who created us has been fulfilled. There could be nothing. We are made for a purpose. This church was built here for a purpose. This foundation was not dug, and the cornerstone laid, and the blocks laid into the--the building, and the roof and the interior was not put here just to see if it could be done. It was put here by a purpose, or for a purpose.

Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God,...
Pillar... A pillar, or a foundation. Foundation in the temple of the house, or the house of God. "The temple of my God," or, "the house of my God." It's a pillar, the foundation. These are those that took the Word which they heard in verse 8, and went back to the foundation.

And I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God... (Which is all the same: Jesus, Jesus, Jesus: the Bride married to Jesus, makes it Mrs. Jesus, and so forth. See?)
There's some mighty fine women in this building tonight, mighty fine, but there's one of them that's mine; she's got my name. I hope you got that. She's bearing my name; so will His Bride. All right.

16. 1Co_3:10  According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
11  For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

17. Isa 28:16  Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste. 

18. 2Ti 2:19  But the firm foundation of (laid by) God stands, sure and unshaken, bearing this seal (inscription): The Lord knows those who are His, and, Let everyone who names [himself by] the name of the Lord give up all iniquity and stand aloof from it.

Only God knows us both. He's knowed you since you was--before you were born. Before the world began He knew you and knew that you would stand here tonight. God knew that. He's fed you all the food you ever eat. 

21. Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Hallelujah! Now notice. You're not only that, but you're going to the Wedding in the sky. And you are wearing the wedding band of predestinated, unmerited grace, a wedding band of grace unmerited of your own. God did it, Himself. He knew you before the foundation of the world, so He slipped the wedding band on you There, put your name on a Book. What a thanksgiving! Hallelujah! Praise our God!
