1 DEPARTMENT OF INSTRUMENTATION AND CONTROL
Fingerprint based Secured Smart Touch screen Voting Machine with Voice Assistance for Elderly and Visually Impaired PRESENTED BY : GUIDED BY : Mrs.P.VANITHA M.E.,(Ph.D) Associate Professor ESWAR.R MUTHUKUMAR.M RAJESH.R DEPARTMENT OF INSTRUMENTATION AND CONTROL

2 Presentation Content The Genesis Tech. Background
Concept of EVM (existing system) Challenge Solution (proposed system) Tech. Background -In detail description of Micro controller (LPC1313) Finger Print Scanner (R305) Schematic Representation Pictorial Representation Advantages Conclusion

3 The Genesis – concept of EVM
( Existing SYSTEM) Electronic Voting Machines ("EVM"), Idea mooted by the Chief Election Commissioner in 1977. The current generation of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) in India uses push buttons, LED lights and beep sounds as its user interface An EVM consists of two units :  Control Unit  Balloting Unit The two units are joined by a five-meter cable. The Control Unit is with the Presiding Officer or a Polling Officer and the Balloting Unit is placed inside the voting compartment.

4 Sub-Units of EVM

5 The Genesis – Challenge (Drawbacks of existing EVM)
There are problems with EVM which is currently in use :  PROBLEMS This is simple to use, but has serious drawbacks when it comes to elderly and visually impaired people.

6 Proposed System Our project aim is to design a low cost, low power next generation EVM that has a fingerprint module and a haptic feedback Touchscreen interface coupled with an MP3 quality voice feedback for visually impaired people. EVM that has a fingerprint module and a haptic feedback Touchscreen interface coupled with an MP3 quality voice feedback for visually impaired people

7 Why only Fingerprint and voice assistant?
Every person in this universe has unique fingerprint. Fingerprints are unique i.e. everyone is born with one, which states that fingerprints can be used for unique identification. Fingerprint scanner is a device for computer Security featuring superior performance, accuracy, durability based on unique NITGEN Fingerprint Biometric Technology. Reliable and trusted Hence we opted for fingerprint technology in our project. Will never leave at home

8 Technology Background
In detail description of Microcontroller(LPC1313) 65K Color QVGA TFT Touchscreen Graphics LCD R30X Series Fingerprint Identification Module 2GB MicroSD MP3 decoder

9 Block Diagram

10 Software's Used LPCXpresso Xpresso is an IDE (Integrated Development Environment) that helps you write, compile, and debug embedded programs. It encapsulates the following components:  A project manager  A make facility  Tool configuration  Editor  A powerful debugger Embedded C It includes all the library functions required for embedded systems Express PCB for layout design Express SCH for Schematic Design

11 Advantages Less manpower required
Time conscious, as less time required for voting & counting Avoids invalid voting Saves transportation cost due to its compact size Convenient on the part of voter

12 Result In our project first configure four finger prints which is ready for voting by pressing CONFIG on the touch screen.

13 Result Select mode for vision good & vision poor people

14 Result Vision good people directly select candidate on the touch screen. vision poor people first hear who is their desire candidate through hearing and select that candidate by double tap on the touch screen.

15 Result Also get the hard copy of the result can be obtained instantly by interface with the printer.

16 Limitations Disadvantages
Political parties may strongly oppose this new system in certain regions Persons without fingers/hands may not cast their votes Disadvantages Requires to build up correct database of civilians/users in advance It’s a costly affair & time taking process

17 Conclusion The project “Fingerprint based Secured Smart Touch screen Voting Machine with Voice Assistance for Elderly and Visually Impaired” has been successfully designed and tested. This can bring a revolutionary change in the election procedures. As the normal EVM is the burning issue in recent days, this can be a solution for all the problems. Not only in INDIA but also in other countries the face of the election procedure can be changed drastically using this technology.

18 THANK YOU
