Why are we doing this? To win the election in November We have new members who have not had this training Honing our skill set Maintaining the current structure you have in place Ann Skaggs Welcome to mapping and charting training.  How many of you have had this training before? How many of you are asking yourself why are we doing this, again? #1  We have new members who have not had this training and with the heavy political lift we have this year it’s important they receive training  and have tools to assist them in their worksites and or DLC. #2 Best Practices #3 Honing our skill set #4 maintaining the current structure you have in place Point out that I’ll be referring to worksites in the training and I understand that many of you are responsible for worksites and stewards outside of your own area.  For those situations ideally you will act as a trainer for stewards. So, you can take this tools back to the stewards and help them create a structure within their work site.   Worksite Network Structure

Agenda Creating a network can build our unions power and engage members. DLC 768’s structure that has moved a large number of people to actions and engagement. Alternate ways of creating a network through geography, departments, or natural work groups. Break out to identify networks that may already exist and plans to create a structure of ways to deepen your network. We need a plan! Organize Targets Members Non-members Stewards Analyzing networks Test Organize -Who do I know, who do I talk to, who can get people involved. Targets – your targets should include those I already know Members-Who has participated before Non-Members - Those who have attended a worksite meeting Stewards – Include stewards who haven't been stepping up. Have we asked them lately. This is a smaller ask and might make a difference in their willingness to participate Analyzing networks - Who are they, where are they located? Test – Updates Bring another to a meeting Are they able to provided, lists, floor maps, seating structing for the building Worksite Network Structure
