3 "Education: It’s being able to differentiate between what you do know and  what you don't. It's knowing where to go to find out what you need to know; and it's knowing how to use the information once you get it.” ~  William Feather

4 Sally Loeser A little about me…
I live on Mercer island and this is my 6th year at Island Park. I have been teaching for over 25 years. Taught 4th & 5th grade, in Advanced Learning Program in Seattle as well as middle and high school classes. I have three children; 2 at MIHS and one in college. I love traveling & skiing with friends and family, teaching, walking my dog, camping, biking, reading and soccer. Since the tender age of 14, I have and still do teach skiing up at Alpental in Snoqualmie Pass in the winter.

5 Ms. Loeser’s Daily Schedule

6 Grading Policy Standards based Report Cards:
Academic Evaluation Key: 4 = Exceeding Standards in-depth inferences & applications 3 = Meeting Standards at Trimester simple or complex skills, grade level tasks 2 = Progressing Towards Standards simpler details and processes 1 = Below Standards with help, a partial understanding Behaviors that Promote Learning: C = Consistently Observed G = Generally Observed N = Needs Prompting R = Rarely Observed

7 Classroom Guidelines:
Please treat me with the same respect I treat you. Feel free to do anything that does not cause a problem for anyone else. I teach when there are no distractions or other problems. I listen to one person at a time. If someone causes a problem, I will do something. What I do will depend on what happened and what the person is willing to do to solve the problem. If you feel something is unfair, please come quietly tell me, and we will talk about it. Classroom Compact, Loeser Bucks
