1 Jesus is TEMPTED in the desert….
R.E. Jesus is TEMPTED in the desert….

2 What happened to Jesus after his baptism?
He was led into the wilderness by the Holy Spirit.

3 The wilderness was a desert – bare, rocky and dry
The wilderness was a desert – bare, rocky and dry. Nobody lived there but wild animals. Jesus was alone there for 40 days and 40 nights, with no food or water.

4 Satan appeared to tempt Jesus. He knew he must be very hungry.
If you really are the son of God you need not go hungry. Turn these stones into loaves of bread. Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

5 Satan tried to tempt Jesus a second time
Satan tried to tempt Jesus a second time. He led him high above the city of Jerusalem. Scripture says “You are not to put the Lord your God to the test”. If you really are the son of God, throw yourself down. God will command his angels to catch you.

6 Satan tried to tempt Jesus a third time on top of a mountain.
Away with you, Satan. It is written “You shall worship the Lord your God and Him alone. I will give you all that you can see. All you must do is kneel at my feet and worship me.

7 Satan went away and Jesus was left in peace
