Drivers and Emissions workgroup

Drivers What are the levels of the national and sectoral energy intensities and their trends? Energy consumption of the total economy / gross value added (GVA) Energy consumption by industries / GVA Energy consumption by households / capita > SDG Goal 7 Criteria assessment: high relevance, high methodological soundness, fair availability, will improve. Highest level indicators accessible for most countries: SEEA based, for EU MS: Energy accounts to be provided by 2017

Drivers How much does the net forest conversion contribute to the overall GHG emissions? Land use change: to be further defined, checked with experts > SDG Goal 15 Criteria assessment: to be determined relevance, statistics according to internationally agreed methodology, good availability

Emissions What is the amount and trend of GHG emissions, and which are the main contributors and main drivers? GHG emissions of the total economy / gross value added (GVA) GHG emissions by industries / GVA GHG emissions by households / capita > SDG Goal 2 Criteria assessment: high relevance, high methodological soundness, good availability, will improve SEEA based, for EU MS air emission accounts already collected on legal basis

Emissions What is the national carbon footprint (total, per capita, per unit GDP, per unit of energy supply), and what are the trends in the footprint? National carbon footprint / capita Criteria assessment: high relevance; low to medium methodological soundness, will improve; available from research literature

Cross-cutting issue Other discussion items
Renewable energy Other discussion items: What is the (main) audience for het key set of indicators? And for what purpose? Room for experimental indicators?
