2 Monologues: Topic TEENAGERS AND HEALTH You are going to talk about teenagers and health. Reflect on what you know about the topic and prepare a three minute presentation about it. You can use the following prompts as a guideline Do you consider yourself a healthy person? Do you care about health? How? Unhealthy and bad habits in today teenagers: what would you change? Is physical activity (jogging, going to a gym, swimming pool) an important part of a healthy lifestyle? How often do you take regular activity? Is obesity a great problem among teenagers where you live?

Monologues: Topic CRIME You are going to talk about crimes . Reflect on what you know about the topic and prepare a three minute presentation about it. You can use the following prompts as a guideline Do you think your area is a safe place? What are the most important social crimes that your community faces? Have you or anybody close to you ever been a victim of a criminal or violent act? Do you think cybercrime is very common ? CANDIDATE A: You have just moved to share a flat with a friend. You want to take a pet (a cat, a dog, a bird) with you but your flatmate doesn't agree to share the flat with an animal. Explain to your flat mate the advantages of having a pet for both of you and make it clear that only you would have to take care of it. Try to come to an agreement. YOU BEGIN THE DIALOGUE. CANDIDATE B: You have just moved to share a flat with a friend. He/she wants to talk to his/her pet to the flat. You totally disagree. You don't want to share your flat with animals. Try to convince him/her about the inconvenience a pet would cause to both of you and make it clear that you will not take care of it. Try to come to an agreement.

CANDIDATE A: You think that your town is becoming uninhabitable for people like you, who go everywhere by bicycle to stay friendly with the environment. Explain to your friend that there are too many cars and not enough cycle paths, and give arguments to convince him/her not to use the car any more. Try to come to an agreement. YOU BEGIN THE DIALOGUE. CANDIDATE B: You think that your town is becoming uninhabitable for people like you, who have to use the car to cover their needs (work, children, etc.). Explain to your friend that there are too many bicycles on the road, and give arguments to convince him/her why you will continue using your car. Try to come to an agreement.

CANDIDATE A: A few weeks ago you realized your city is full of horrible graffiti. You think that this behavior should be punished. Explain to your friend why you think this is intolerable and what measures should be taken against the people who make the walls so dirty. Try to come to an agreement. YOU BEGIN THE DIALOGUE. CANDIDATE B: You are a “street artist” and you love making graffiti around your town. You think that this is a way of personal expression. Explain to your friend why this behaviour should not be punished and why you want to continue ‘decorating the town walls’.

CANDIDATE A: You are meeting your friend to talk about your plans for next holidays. You like nature and you think spending a week in a camp site is a very good idea. Explain to your friend all the activities you could there and how much fun it would be. He/she totally disagree as he/she prefers something different. Try to come to an agreement. You begin the conversation CANDIDATE B: You are meeting your friend to talk about your plans for next holidays. You love travelling and visiting new places and you have thought about going somewhere in Europe. Explain to your friend why this is the best option and your plans. Try to come to an agreement.

CANDIDATE A: Your family has to move to another place. You are discussing with them about the best place to live. You think the best option is a flat in the city centre. Explain to them the advantages of living there. YOU BEGIN THE CONVERSATION CANDIDATE B: You and family have to move to another city. You are discussing with your son/daughter about the best place to live. You think the best option is a small town near the city. Try to convince him/her about the positive aspects of living there and come to an agreement

CANDIDATE A: You have been accepted to  take  part in the next edition of the Briti sh Big  Brother (Gran Hermano on  Spanish TV). You think this is a great opportunity. Explain the reasons why  taking  part in this  programme w ould be good  for you. Try to convi nce your friend that you are makin g  the right decision. YOU BEGIN THE CONVERSATION CANDIDATE B: Your partner has been  accepted to take part in the  next edition of the British Big Brother (Gran Hermano on Spanish TV).  You think this would be a  big mistake. Think of reasons why it would not be a good  idea for your  friend to take part in the programme.   Try to persuade him / her to  change his / her plans.
