Edward was the first King from the House of York
During the years 1470 and 1471 Henry VI from the House of Lancaster was restored to the throne.
Edward and his brother Richard fled to Flanders
Edward retook the throne in 1471.
In 1483, he fell ill and died at the age of 40

His uncle Richard was nominated as the young king’s Protector, until he became an adult and could rule on his own.

Edward and his younger brother, Richard, were sent to the Tower of London to live.
