2. The first video game.
In 1958, William Higinbotham came out with “Tennis for Two.”
The game was played on an oscilloscope and it required two players in order to play.
Higinbotham made this device to amuse and inspire young minds about science.
However, this device could have been what kickstarted the creation of video games.

3. Video games in the 70s.
Video games did not become popular until the 70s and 80s.
During this time, most video games were played on an arcade system.
However, there were consoles being released during this time, but there were so many consoles it was easier to just go to the arcade.
Most people thought during this time that it was a just a fad and that it would go away in time.

4. Video games in the 80s.
During this time, consoles started to be more popular, however they were still arcades and they were still very popular.
The most popular console during this time was the “NES” made by, “Nintendo.”

5. Video Games in the 90s.
During this time, most people would get consoles and play video games on them, however arcades were still popular but started to decline.
During this time, nintendo released the “Gameboy”, and “Sony” released their “Playstation.”

6. Video games in the 2000s.
Video games in the 2000s were mainly played on consoles.
During this time, the main consoles were made by,”Sony,” “Microsoft,” and “Nintendo.”
Most hand held games were made by “Sony,” with their “PSP,” and “Nintendo” with their “Nintendo DS.”

7. Video games now.
Video games now are mainly played on console. There are people who play on their phones and other handheld devices, but the more hardcore players are on console.
The most common consoles to play on are the “Xbox one,” “PS4,” or on the computer.

8. Conclusion.
Video games have only been around for about 60 years. During those 60 years we can see how they have evolved for better or for worse. In this time we’ve come from games played on an oscilloscope requiring two people and a huge area to play to handheld games that fit in the palm of your hand.
